(Lee’s Summit, MO) – Summit Christian Academy’s (SCA) youngest learners recently took on a grown-up challenge.  As part of the December unit study on Christmas and helping others, the pre-Kindergarten and preschool students collected hats and gloves for needy families in the metro area.

“I wanted the students to begin to understand the idea that giving often requires personal sacrifice,” said SCA Early Education Director Sheri Wayman.  “The children very generously donated items to help those in need.”

The Early Education students collected nearly 100 items that will be donated to Hope Faith Ministries, an inner city ministry for Kansas City’s homeless families.
