Pictured here are 4th graders Kyler Simmons (3rd place winner), Nate Bartlett (1st place winner), and Jacob Martinez (2nd place winner).  These winners have advanced to the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) District competition to be held on January 17, 2014 at Heartland Christian Academy in Belton, Missouri.

A total of 42 students in grades 2 through 8 participated in the spelling bee, 13 of whom have also qualified for districts.  They include 3rd graders Olivia Lecoque, Will McConaughey, and Trey Kates; 5th graders Maddie Hammett and Grant Fristo; 6th graders Aidan Satterfield, Hannah Helms, and Kennedy Brown; 7th graders Paige Thompson, Jennah Finnegan, and Matthew Mitchell; and 8th graders Zarah DeMeire, Rebecca Rivas-D-Amico, and Haley Noland.

“The spelling bee is always an exciting event,” said Mrs. Kimberlee Gill, SCA Academic Dean and elementary principal.  “This event at SCA is highly competitive, and I am so proud of the work ethic, sportsmanship, and poise of each one of our students who competed.”
