Summit Christian Academy Announces Secondary Christian Character Honorees

(Lee’s Summit, MO) – Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to recognize students who consistently exhibit exceptional Christian character. The Christian Character Award recipients in the secondary school for this semester are: senior Taylor Shippy, son of Darryl and Holly Shippy; senior Ashley Thompson, daughter of David and Kimberlee Thompson; 7th grade student Jennah Finnegan, daughter of Don and Linabelle Finnegan; and 7th grade student Matthew Mitchell, son of Mark and DeNise Mitchell.

The Christian Character Award is very special at SCA.  The purpose of this award is to encourage students to pursue their potential toward attaining the highest level of personal and academic development.  Based on their ability to act as positive role models for classmates, students who demonstrate honesty, integrity, consistent spiritual attitude, respect, and quality academic achievement are carefully selected.  This semester’s honorees were recently presented with the Christian Character Award during chapel service.

“It is an honor to recognize students who not only excel academically, but who are also unswerving examples of Christian love to their peers.  The difficulty lies in choosing only two students per grade level,” said SCA Secondary Principal and Director of Operations Emir Ruiz-Esparza.  “I am always encouraged by the caliber of character our students display.  I am very proud of these promising citizens.”
