(Lee’s Summit, MO) – Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is celebrating their fourth-annual International Education Week. As a part of SCA’s commitment to building a global community throughout the school, K-12 students are engaging in educational opportunities including games, presentations, and global cuisine from across the globe.

“We want our students to leave here with not only a Biblical world-view, but a Biblical view of the world,” shares SCA’s International Program Director Kathy Tharp. “It is with much intention that we create opportunities for students to become more globally aware.”

SCA has educated students from countries including South Korea, China, Switzerland, Spain, Russia, and Venezuela. SCA’s secondary international students are given the opportunity to share their home country and culture with their fellow SCA students by giving a variety of topical presentations to both secondary and elementary classes.

“I am so proud of our International students. It takes a lot of courage to share their lives and culture with us, in their second language,” commented High School History Teacher Ruth Terry. “I am thankful that they share with us and provide an opportunity to broaden our perspective!”
