SCA Elementary Students Place 1st at Math Olympics

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) students in grades 3-6 recently competed in the Association of Christian School International (ACSI) Math Olympics at Plaza Heights Christian Academy. Eighteen SCA elementary students were tested in areas of reasoning and computation. Six students placed in the top 5 positions in their category and grade.

 

 

“We are so proud of all our math scholars,” said SCA Elementary Vice Principal Mrs. Charissa Sanders.  “The students enjoyed the challenge and performed very well under pressure.”

 

 

SCA 3rd grader Trey Kates won 1st place in Reasoning and 3rd grader Jake Cumberland won 3rd place in Computation; 4th grader Christian Phillips won 1st place in Reasoning and Zach Chinnery won 5th place in Computation; 5th grader Collin Pemberton won 3rd place in Reasoning and 6th grade student Dan Martin won 5th place in Reasoning.

 

 

Other students who participated in the meet include 3rd graders Jillian Steller in Computation, and Caleb Anderson and Jaxon Gamber in Reasoning; 4th graders Elijah Huckabee and Nate Bartlett in Computation, and Mattie Tapko in Reasoning; 5th graders Haydn Godshall and Grant Frist competed in Computation, and Devyn Holt competed in Reasoning.
