Summit Christian Academy Nominated for Starlight’s Blue Star Awards

(Lee’s Summit, MO) – Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is excited to announce that Starlight Theatre and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City nominated two SCA students in two different categories for a Blue Star Awards for their production of Meet Me in St. Louis. SCA junior Grace Gronberg received a nomination for Outstanding Artistic Contribution by a student for her choreography and SCA senior Kylee Schuh was nominated for Outstanding Hair and Makeup Design. This is Kylee’s second nomination in this category.

“We’re so proud of both of these girls for their achievements in theatre this year,” said SCA Secondary Theater Arts Teacher and Meet Me in St. Louis Director Mrs. Emily Stam.  “Meet Me in St. Louis was a big success, and these two young women made that possible through their hard work and dedication to excellence,” added Mrs. Stam.

The Blue Star Awards, modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards, honors achievement and excellence in high school musical theater. The program annually serves nearly 5000 area students who participate in various facets of their schools’ musical theatre productions. This year’s season included 46 schools performing 52 musicals.
