Summit Christian Academy Students Place at District Spelling Bee

(Lee’s Summit, MO)– Summit Christian Academy (SCA) elementary and middle school students recently participated in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) District Spelling Bee at Heartland Christian Academy in Belton. Six SCA students placed at the top of their age groups in the competition.

 

“We are proud of all of our students who competed at districts,” said SCA Elementary Vice Principal Mrs. Charissa Sanders. “It is exciting to see the students so focused and disciplined in academic competition.”

 

 The Spell Down Round of the competition found Aidan Satterfield, Hannah Helms, and Matthew Mitchell in the competition with 13 other students from area Christian schools. In the end, SCA 7th Grader Matthew won 3rd place and qualified to advance to the Regional Competition in Dallas, Texas in March.

“Matthew will do a great job at Regionals. This is an awesome opportunity and experience for him,” said Mrs. Sanders.

SCA 4th graders Jacob Martinez took 2nd place and Nate Bartlett took 1st place for the 4th grade competition, and third grade student Trey Kates took 4th place in the District Spelling Bee.
