Allegro Jr. Class added to Summit Christian Academy Strings Program

(LEE’S SUMMIT) – Summit Christian Academy (SCA) has added an additional group to the growing strings program. For the 2016-17 school year SCA has added “Allegro Jr.” for students that are in beginning to intermediate string ensemble. The group is comprised of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students, and includes one very advanced 3rd grade student.

While some of the students in the class have been taking lessons for several years, other students are taking a string instrument lesson for the first time. In order to make this ensemble a success, a very special curriculum is being used that takes the varied levels of the students into consideration.

There are currently 18 students enrolled in the class and orchestra director, Mrs. Nagy, is always looking for new string students. The ensemble meets from 7:35 – 8:10 a.m. on Thursday and Friday mornings. The students need to provide their own instruments and books, and the class is free of charge for any elementary student in grades 4-6 enrolled at SCA.
