Reptiles Invade the Second Grade Class at SCA

(Lee’s Summit, MO) – A green iguana. A boa constrictor. An Indian Star Tortoise. All three invaded the second grade class at SCA as the the Kansas City Zoomobile came to visit. The second grade students just finished a science unit on Animal Classification. Students learned about reptiles, their habitats, and what they prefer to eat. They had hands-on interaction with the aforementioned Indian Star Tortoise, Brazilian Rainbow Boa Constrictor, and feisty Green Iguana.

“I love teaching science here at SCA to our second graders! The students’ facial expressions were priceless as they are able to get “up-close and personal” with a few reptiles! Plus they got to show off a little knowledge they gained through our recent study of reptiles,” shared Second Grade Teacher Melanie Casey.
