(Lee’s Summit, MO) – On March 11-13, nearly 4,000 top athletes gathered from over 40 states, Canada, the Caribbean, and Cuba to compete at the New Balance Indoor Nationals held at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York. These competitors ran, hurdled, jumped, and threw their way to titles in 94 boys’ and girls’ Championship, Emerging Elite, and Freshman events. Competition proved fierce, with 17 athletes on hand who had already represented Team USA in World Junior, World Youth, and Youth Olympic Championships, as well as another two dozen previous defending New Balance indoor and outdoor individual champions in attendance.

Carlie Queen, a junior at Summit Christian Academy, was among the top group to qualify and compete in the Championship High Jump event. Out of 33 jumpers, Queen medaled for 6th and made the 2016 Indoor Track & Field All-American Girls Team presented by New Balance. The performances at the Armory this year finished strong, with ten new National Records set along with fifteen new National Class Records.
