SCA 7th Grader Earns Grand Recognition from Duke University Talent Identification Program

(Lee’s Summit) – Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that twenty-five of their 7th grade students qualified for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) this year.

Academically talented 7th grade students can qualify by scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test, and are invited to participate in TIP’s 7th Grade Talent Search by taking the ACT or SAT alongside college-bound eleventh and twelfth grade students.  Ten SCA 7th grade students participated in the ACT, with three achieving state recognition (earning scores that are approximately equal to the 50th national percentile rank for college-bound seniors).  These student scholars are:  Nate Bartlett, Kaitlyn Dunahee, and Marissa Mitchell.

Nate Bartlett also received Grand Recognition, meaning his score was approximately equal to the 90th national percentile rank for college-bound seniors taking the test.
