SCA Food Drive Provides Food to Feed 400 for Thanksgiving

(Lee’s Summit, MO) – The annual Summit Christian Academy (SCA) Elementary Food Drive was a huge success this year. The SCA students brought in 8,410 items to bless families in need. SCA joined forces with Turning Point, Belton Assembly of God, and Courageous Life Churches to collect food items and turkeys to bless 400 families in the KC metro area. On the final day of the drive, sixth grade students packed the canned items into boxes and loaded them onto trucks to be distributed to the families.

“The SCA students will help 400 families this Thanksgiving,” shared Turning Point Executive Pastor Tim Krabiel. “We are so thankful for their partnership as it provides food for so many families in our community for Thanksgiving.”

Cosentino’s Price Chopper in Belton donated several cases of vegetables and fruit to make the event a huge success. With their donation the SCA students were able to earn fun days at school including hat/tiara day, team shirt day, extra recess day and jeans and class t-shirt day.
