SCA Queen Seizes #1 Jump in the Nation

SCA Senior Carlie Queen sets the standard for highest jump in the nation at Gorilla High School Classic.

Senior Carlie Queen continues to fly high in her high jump competitions. Queen competed in the Gorilla High School Classic at Pitt State and seized the #1 jump in the nation. Her leap of 5’ 9.25” topped the 2017 United States High School Girls Leader board on MileSplit USA. Additionally, she broke the high school meet record which had previously stood for seventeen years.

SCA Track & Field Coach Rick McGregor comments, “Carlie Queen is truly an amazing athlete. She has put forth so much hard work and effort in this event and it is really paying off for her. Even more, Carlie is a great example for her teammates to strive to be the best in each of their events.”

Upon graduation this spring, Queen has committed to compete at the University of Arkansas next year.
