SCA Junior to Attend Missouri Girls State Program

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that SCA Junior Natalie Maruschak has been accepted as a delegate in the 2018 American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State (ALA MGS).  The session will be held June 24 – 30 on the campus of the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg.

SCA junior Natalie Maruschak has been selected to attend the 2018 American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State Program June 24-30 at the University of Central Missouri.

Established in 1940, MGS was one of the first 11 Girls State programs in the nation.  MGS provides a unique learning experience where delegates are challenged with hands-on experience in the process of city, county, and state government.

Currently, over 200 American Legion Auxiliary units throughout Missouri and approximately 760 girls are selected to attend MGS yearly. Delegates to MGS are girls who attend high school in Missouri and have just completed their junior year. They are chosen by an interview and application procedure which evaluates leadership abilities, interest in government, service to others, and academics.
