SCA Vocalists Earn Local and State Recognition

(Lee’s Summit, MO) – Summit Christian Academy Secondary vocalists have received top awards at competitions recently.

Earning a top award with a gold medal at the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) State Solo/Ensemble Festival at the University of Missouri were soloists senior Alley Brown and freshman Annie Harsch.  Also receiving gold medals were the Junior/Senior Ensemble Women’s Quartet (seniors Lucy Kavalesky, Emilie Moyer, Alley Brown, and junior Chloe Nielsen) and the Junior Senior Men’s Ensemble (seniors Caleb Schumer, Jacob Dixson, Connor Healy, and Michael Werner, and junior Blake Roudebush).

The SCA Junior High Choir received a “I” rating at the Midwest Christian School Academic Meet at Blue Ridge Christian School recently. They also received a “I” rating at the Festival of Music at Worlds of Fun.  In addition, they received first place in their division for the 7th consecutive year!

The following Junior High students received “I” ratings on their solo or small ensemble:
Soloist were Jillian Steller, Olivia LeCoque, and Olivia Truesdale. Ensembles were Keyler Quessenberry, Hope Woodall, Navi McFarland, Olivia Truesdale, Katie Coats, Olivia LeCoque, April Phillips, Shea Rider, and Jillian Steller, Mattie Tapko, Brooklyn Howard, M’racle Bryant-Morgan, Elizabeth Walden, Chloe Schumer, Marissa Mitchell, Kendall Keegan, and Kaitlyn Gregg.

Boys quartet singers were Brennen Ross, Hudson Harris, Connor Noland, and Christian Phillips.
