Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year. The school began in 1989 with 32 students.

The 2019-20 school year at Summit Christian Academy (SCA) began on August 14 with many historic milestones. Founded in 1989 with 32 students as a community school, the school is celebrating their 30th Anniversary year in the Lee’s Summit community, with a record-enrollment of 837 preschool-12th grade students. The increased enrollment has occurred at all levels of the school, early education – high school. The school is also expanding the campus with the addition of an 11,000 ft² secondary classroom wing and a 60 car parking lot that is to be completed in January. The school year also began with SCA Head of School celebrating her 20th year at SCA.

“I have had the privilege of interviewing hundreds of new families since I started leading SCA 20 years ago,” shared SCA Head of School Linda Harrelson. “After 20 years, I still get excited about meeting all of the families and am grateful their children’s faith will be supported by our godly and engaged teachers. Each year we pray specifically over the names of each of our students and know that God has a purpose for their lives.”

“We have received calls from families moving from Maryland, Minnesota, Washington, Michigan and Tennessee who want to move to the Lee’s Summit community and attend SCA!” shared SCA Director of Development Sarah Coats. “To accommodate the growth at our Early Education program we renovated two classrooms in our Elementary Building to provide classrooms for these students.”
