Summit Christian Academy Elementary Students Honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Chapel

Guest speaker Pastor Frank King of Refreshing Waters Worship Center speaking to SCA elementary students.

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) elementary students filled the auditorium for a special Chapel to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The guest speaker was SCA parent and Pastor of Refreshing Waters Worship Center Mr. Frank King and wife Mrs. Robin King.

It is a tradition each year for SCA to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther, King, Jr. during Chapel. Pastor King referenced Matthew 5:16 along with one of Dr. King’s famous quotes, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” The message encouraged students to be carriers of light in the darkness, and to also remember that hate harms but love never fails.

“It was an honor to dedicate a Chapel service to the life of Dr. King. He was such an influential man of God and it’s important that we teach our children his legacy,” shared SCA’s Elementary Principal Charissa Sanders.
