Summit Christian Academy was founded in 1989. In 2000, faculty and students moved into a beautiful new 55,000 square foot facility located on 36 acres in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Our student population quickly outgrew this facility. In fact, over the years SCA has grown an average of 21.5 percent per year. The nine modular classrooms and five borrowed classrooms from the neighboring church enabled us to grapple with a student population that stretched the boundaries of this facility.
In reality, that very growth has helped us maintain our standard of excellence. It has afforded us the financial opportunity to offer both the courses and extracurricular programs that provide the quality preparatory education parents desire for their students.
We remained true to the early vision of our founding families by taking the next step toward a top-notch high school facility. Construction of the first phase of a state-of-the-art junior/senior high school building was completed in January 2007. The initial phase includes classroom space, fully-equipped science laboratories, a media center, and a large multi-purpose room as well as a preschool wing. Future phases will include a fine arts area, gymnasium and more classroom space. Not only will the building help us maintain a healthy growth rate, it will ensure secondary students everything they need to compete at the collegiate level.
