Record Number of SCA 7th Grade Students Receive State Recognition for DUKE Talent Identification Program

Duke TIP

A record number of students represented SCA at State in the Duke TIP 7th grade talent search. Eight students from SCA were recognized. They were Hannah Helms, Avery Lake, William Chapman, Kennedy Cooper, Riley Painter, Bryce Ferguson, Jacob Walden and Lura Rider.

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that twenty-six of the 7th grade students qualified for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) this year with 8 being recognized at the State level.

Academically talented 7th grade students can qualify by scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test, and are invited to participate in the Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search by taking the ACT or SAT alongside college-bound eleventh and twelfth grade students. Fourteen SCA 7th grade students participated in the ACT, with 8 achieving state recognition. This is a record number of qualifiers and state recognized students for SCA.
