Quessensberry joins SCA from Evangel University in Springfield where he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Athletics and Kinesiology and the Head Baseball Coach.

Quessenberry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Social Studies and Master of Education from Southwest Baptist University, and a Master of Educational Leadership from Evangel University.

“Lance Quessenberry is a strong and capable leader with a servant’s attitude who wants to advance the vision, mission, and values of SCA within our athletic program,” shared SCA Secondary Principal Mr. Emir Ruiz-Esparza. “He brings with him high expectations, a commitment to excellence, and a desire to see students and coaches succeed. In addition to his nine years of experience at the collegiate level, he has taught and coached for ten years at the high school level.  His experience and background have given him a strong perspective on the supporting role athletics has within the academic environment.  He has a strong desire to see our athletes grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, and athletically. All of these qualifications make him a perfect fit for our athletic department.”

“My prayer is that all SCA athletes will strive to represent Christ on and off the field,” shared Quessenberry. “This goal is about more than just good sportsmanship. It is about an all out 100% effort and dedication to their team and their coaches. Christ gave His full effort for us through His death on the cross to carry out God’s plan of redemption. I hope our athletes will truly grasp what Christ did for them and have a strong desire to be like Him both on and off the field.”

Lance, his wife Darla, and daughter Keyler will be re-locating to the Lee’s Summit area. Keyler will be attending SCA.
