(Lee’s Summit, MO) – The Summit Christian Academy Eagles baseball team continued their winning season to claim first place in the Class 3, District 15 championship with victories over Central Academy and University Academy. From there, they advanced to Sectional play-offs Monday night against Lawson High School where they won 2-1.

Junior Will Finch recorded the win for the SCA Eagles in the district championship game by pitching two shutout innings. Finch struck out four, walked one, and gave up one hit. Senior Robbie Suhr had seven strikeouts in the sectionals game against Lawson to push the Eagles to the win. However, it was Suhr’s final catch in centerfield and subsequent throw to home plate for a game ending double play that secured the 2-1 victory for the Eagles.

SCA will play Lexington at home at 5:00 on Wednesday, 5/25, in the state quarterfinals. This will be the Eagles second trip to the quarterfinals in two years.
