SCA First Grade Students Compete in Reading Competition

(Lee’s Summit) – Summit Christian Academy (SCA) first graders recently participated in the annual “Goody, Goody, Gumball” reading competition. Students were challenged by the school to get excited about reading and received a gumball sticker for every 30 minutes they read.  Together, the forty students from the three first grade classes read a total of 23,562 minutes, which is an average of 589 minutes per student!

The top two winners from each class received a Barnes and Noble gift card and gum balls.
