The Summit Christian Academy (SCA) Board of Education is excited to announce that Mr. Chris Hahn will become the next Head of School, effective July 1, 2021.

The Summit Christian Academy (SCA) Board of Education is excited to announce that Mr. Chris Hahn will become the next Head of School, effective July 1, 2021.

Mr. Hahn was selected from an extensive pool of diverse, qualified, and talented candidates after a thorough six-month search process that engaged SCA parents, alumni, staff/faculty, and the SCA board of education.

“At every step of the process we were inspired by the commitment to Christ first and foremost by Chris, his demonstrated love of learning and children, his relational approach to leadership, his warmth, vision, and most importantly, his deep alignment with our mission and core values,” shared SCA Board President Don Bisbee.

“SCA is at a unique point in our growth. After a year of near-full capacity at all grade levels, SCA is on track for another record-setting enrollment in 2021/22,” shared Bisbee. “SCA is supported by a strong community of creative and engaged students, committed parents, and inspiring teachers who are called to serve here. We feel that Chris is who the Lord has desired and provided to SCA! He is an effective communicator, collaborator, has a high energy level, and has a passion for excellence in education. He has a strong desire and vision for growth of both SCA and God’s kingdom. It was with this in mind that the SCA Board unanimously voted to invite Chris to become SCA’s next Head of School, and he enthusiastically accepted our invitation.”

Mr. Hahn will join SCA from Prince of Peace Christian School, a pre-K-12th grade school in Carrollton, Texas, where he has served since 1990. He began his career at Prince of Peace as a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and administrator.  He has served as Headmaster since 2003. At Prince of Peace, he has played an integral role in all aspects of school life – from hiring and mentoring new teachers and staff to implementing the school’s strategic plan. He has worked closely with the Prince of Peace Board of Education on various initiatives, including the construction and fundraising for a Robotics Center, Early Learning Center, Fine Arts Center, and Athletic Complex. Mr. Hahn was also instrumental in development and implementation of the Smart Lab, a modern classroom that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking.

Chris has a B.A. in Elementary Education from Concordia University and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from the University of North Texas.

Mr. Hahn and his wife Tricia, have three adult children, a daughter Whitney who is a first grade teacher in Prosper, Texas, son Tyler who is a soon to be graduate at Texas A&M, and son Brent who is a freshman at Grand Canyon University.

“We are looking forward to all that God has in store for Chris as the future leader of SCA and as we say a fond farewell to our current Head of School Linda Harrelson,” shared Bisbee. “The Board will work closely with both Chris and Linda to ensure a smooth transition. Our community looks forward to Chris joining us, and we are confident SCA will continue to thrive under his leadership. Please join us in welcoming Chris and Tricia to the SCA Community!”
