Our School Spirit Lasts An Eternity

Message to SCA Families from
Head of School Linda Harrelson (April 9, 2020)

Dear SCA Community,

I hope your family is settling into a comfortable routine with SCA eCampus. I have enjoyed hearing from many of you in the “parent hangout” meetings as well as through phone calls and emails. As I have shared in the past, I am always amazed at how God puts the right people in the right place and at just the right time. This couldn’t be more true than for the March 23 launch of SCA’s eCampus! I am so incredibly proud of our administrative team and faculty members for their tireless work!

It is Easter week and my prayer is that each of us will find some extra time to spend in the Word. I hope you can attend a virtual Easter service at home with your families and join Christians around the world focusing on the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior.

I also want to share some dates with you. We hope having these dates on your calendar will help you as you look ahead. Whether classes are on-campus or through eCampus, these dates are firm.

Governor Parson just announced that all schools are to remain closed for the remainder of the school year. SCA will continue eCampus instruction for all Early Ed through 12th grade students through May 19.

There is no school on Friday, April 10, in observance of Good Friday.

There is no school on Friday, April 24. This was a scheduled faculty/staff in-service day. Our teachers have been working around the clock to execute eCampus, provide supplemental materials, and respond to parent and student questions. We hope this day will be a day of refreshing as they continue to plan for the remainder of the semester.

Last day of school remains Tuesday, May 19, and is a half day.

Many families have a tradition of writing out Scriptures and putting them on their refrigerator. This week, my husband put Romans 8:28 up, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” What a fitting Scripture during this time.

I encourage you to take some time to check out SCA’s Social Media and YouTube pages. We have been working hard to share some additional resources with our shelter-in-place community. Each day we are releasing a 2-4 minute devotion from our Devoted Parent Devotion book at 6:30 a.m. on Facebook. I feel confident you will be blessed and encouraged to hear our teachers reading their heartfelt devotions.

We miss you and are thinking about you! If you have any prayer requests, we would love to pray specifically for them. Please email me, as I would love to pray for you.

In Partnership,
Linda Harrelson, Head of School
