Ms. Caravaca joined the SCA faculty in 2018. Originally from Costa Rica, she first came to the U.S. as an exchange student at age 17, living in Upstate New York. This is where she learned English and became a strong believer in learning language through immersion. She recently retired from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services where she was one of the supervisors at The Los Angeles County Child Protection Hotline, the largest in the nation. She trained new hires and enjoyed helping families and children navigate the child welfare system in Los Angeles County.

“I believe it was the provision of God that put SCA in my path. I enjoy working with students and faculty to build bridges of communication through teaching a foreign language.”

Ms. Caravaca is bilingual Spanish and English. She also can read and understand French. She loves languages and travel.
