2015-16 Wrestling Team:

SCA Wrestling concluded a successful second season as they doubled the team's size to 14 wrestlers and had 6 dual match wins. They placed 3rd in the Crossroads Conference Meet and placed higher in every tournament than they did last season.

Individual season highlights included 6 wrestlers with double digit wins including freshman Zeke Dunning (13), junior Austin Brownlee (14), and sophomore Trenton Holloway (16). Junior Jon Scire recorded 20 wins and narrowly missed qualifying for the state tournament. Junior Caden Robinson had an outstanding first season of wrestling as he became the second state qualifier for SCA.  He narrowly lost his first match at state by a score of 2-1 but responded with a pin in his wrestle back match for his 40th win of the season. Sophomore Brett Campbell became the first state medalist for SCA. At State, he had a great showing with two pins and a technical fall. He ended the season with 50 wins and 39 pins which moves him into 5th place for the all-time most pins in a season for the state of Missouri.

With no seniors, the team looks forward to an increase in the number of wrestlers next year and hopes to take a record number of wrestlers to the state tournament.

2014-15 Wrestling Team:

The SCA wrestling team concluded a very successful inaugural season in 2014-15. Highlights included junior Dylan Burgess winning 17 matches and freshman Trenton Holloway winning 13 matches and coming within one match of qualifying for the state tournament. The season climax was when freshman Brett Campbell became the first ever MSHSAA State Tournament Qualifier for SCA. He won two matches at the state tournament and narrowly lost his last match 5-3 in the last 10 seconds; a victory would have made him a state medalist. Campbell concluded the season with a school record of 36 wins.
