God placed the call to teach on Mrs. Bacon's heart when she was a very young child. He opened the door and led her down the path of education. After completing her education, she taught for one year at Hillside Academy, an educational alternative school in Hillside, Illinois. She then spent six years teaching in an extended resource program at Gower Middle School in Burr Ridge, Illinois. She has two children who are both alumni of SCA, Nathan who graduated in 2007 and is the head baseball coach at Dordt University in Sioux Center Iowa, and Rachel who is a 2014 SCA graduate. Rachel lives in Knoxville, Tennessee where she works for Dale Carnegie. Her husband, Dennis owns Bacon Financial Advisers which is located in Lee's Summit.

The 2019-20 school year marks Mrs. Bacon's 20th year of service at SCA. "It is with His strength that I serve and have the joy to educate for this life and for eternity. I so desire for my students to love the Lord more when they complete fifth grade than when they began."

  • Favorite Scripture
  • The verse I cling to and pray over my students is, "For if we do all for the glory of God, we will honor and please our Creator." Colossians 3:23
